Steirische Krakau, nestling on the southern slopes of the Schladming Tauern, enjoys a favourable climate with low rainfall and lots of sunshine in both summer and winter. Given the gently rolling valley floor, it’s hard to imagine that you are already at an altitude of between 1,100m and 1,400m. The excellent and well signposted network of hiking trails has been awarded the Austrian Hiking Quality Seal.
Very popular with cyclists, Steirische Krakau is renowned for its numerous authorised mountain bike trails. It has also made a name for itself by concentrating on e-bikes. In several places there are rental and charging stations, where bikes of all shapes and sizes can be hired – everything from the leisurely to sporty.
