Insight in an avalanche winter – in the small but fine museum, the tragic history of the avalanches in St. Antönien and the efforts made for avalanche protection can be experienced in an impressive way.

The “Laubänähus” museum brings the history of the St. Antönier avalanches to life in an impressive way.

Experience the queasy feeling of an avalanche night first hand in an authentic Walser parlour – the light flickers and your own voice is drowned out by the roar of the masses of snow. Narrated experiences of survivors can be seen in the small cinema with new and old film documents.

opening hours
wednesday & saturday:
3 – 5 pm
Visit by appointment at any time possible.

Admission
CHF 5 for adults;
free with the “Pany-St.Antönien Card” guest card

But it is not only the avalanches that find their place, but also the history surrounding the planning and construction of the avalanche protection. Real concrete and steel elements illustrate the dimensions of the imposing structures on the Chüanihorn and the Eggberg.
