Arrival by train and bus

Matsch is easily accessible by public transport. Regional trains run from Bolzano to Merano. Change in Meran, and take to the Meran-Mals Vinschgau train. From Mals station, the city bus line 278 takes you to Matsch. From mid-June to mid-October, the Citybus line 281 runs from Matsch to the Glieshöfe farms.

Important note: 2026 closure on the Merano-Malles (Venosta Valley) railway / replacement bus services

❶ Venosta Valley railway: full closure of railway line between Meran/Merano and Mals/Malles till 28 march 2026/ replacement service to be set up
Until the end of March 2026 the entire railway line of the Venosta Valley Railway (Meran/Merano and Mals/Malles) will be closed.

A replacement bus (line B250) will be offered every half hour.

Brenner Pass: A22 Brenner motorway, motorway exit Bozen Sud, continue to Meran on the MeBo dual carriageway, continue on the Vinschgau state road SS40 to Tarsch, turn off to Matsch

From the north:
Reschenpass: B180 to Reschenpass, continue on the Vinschgau state road SS 40 to Tarsch, turn off to Matsch

From the west:
Ofenpass: Müstair-Taufers in Münstertal, continue on the Vinschgau state road SS41 to Tarsch, turn off to Matsch
