Along easy trails you can reach a couple of sites, that have a significant importance in the history of the village of Ramsau.

Following painters and artists to the lake Hintersee

From the town center take a nice stroll along the river Ramsauer Ache, through the so called ‘Magic Forest’ until you reach the mountain lake ‘Hintersee’. Walk around the lake (if you are tough enough, take a swim) and take the path leading to Wartstein. Taking in the great views of the lake and surrounding mountains, continue back to Ramsau.

Along the "salt pipeline"

Start in the town center, walk west and pass the chruch St. Sebastian. After passing the restaurant Oberwirt you will soon reach another little church (Maria am Kunterweg).

The original route of the salt pipeline takes you without elevation gain along the south facing slopes above Ramsau, great views on the Berchtesgaden Alps guaranteed!

The trip ends in Isank, where a public bus will take you back to Ramsau.
