The Rehlegg has been family-owned for almost 100 years. During that time it has changed – but yet not really. The former farmhouse still stands in the same place. Newly added have been space, rooms, suites, pool and saunas.

New and old go hand in hand. What unites them? Nature. Fragrant pinewood on the walls, hand-burned stones from Lake Chiemsee, pure new wool, loden cloth, woven linens.

And always the peaceful mountain view: from the fireplace lounge, from the restaurant, from the house bank, the terrace. From every room.

The highest possible quality the region can offer

We are deeply attached to our home of Ramsau: The Bergsteigerdorf in southern Berchtesgadener Land, on the perimeter of the only alpine national park in Germany. We are happy to adhere to its rhythm. We are aware of which gifts nature makes us here – and are happy to pass them onto our guests.

90 Percent of all our products used by our head chef Marko Lauterbach originate from the region and ecological farming.

New Projekt: healthy pigs on the Rehlegglehen
To underline our commitment to sustainability and high quality, we have started to keep our own pigs, following strong regulations. These biologically fed pigs enjoy a good life on the “Rehlegg-farm” outside on the meadows.

Sustainability: no CO2 emissions!

On the roof of our hotel we have installed two solar heat facilities (100 m²) that we use to heat our swimming pool and cover a large part of our need of hot water. The solar panels produces 29,500 KWh of electricity and our block heat and energy plant is running on CO2-neutral propane.

Awards and particularities:

  • only local products
  • no CO² emission
  • charging stations for e-bikes or cars

We therefore can cover about 60% of our needs by our own production. For the rest, we obtain electricity from water power plants.
